Coach Florence here bringing you another post to help you with your gains with nutrition coaching. In my opinion, showing up to the gym and putting in work is the easiest part of hitting your fitness goals.

To build muscle and to have the energy to crush it during your training session, you need these 3 macronutrients: protein, fats and carbohydrates, right? Right.

However, meal prepping, stuffing your face with deliciousness and making sure you are hitting your nutritional goals at the same time is TOUGH!

Being in America, it is easy to fulfill our macronutrient goals (depending on independent situations) as there is an abundance of food, in spite of a large portion of food that are stripped of precious micronutrients for shelf life or to produce cheap, processed food.

Even though these foods are delicious to our salty and sweet taste buds, they have helped put heart disease as the number 1 killer in America.

Within our diet we tend to overlook micronutrients forgetting these nutrients can accelerate muscle growth, reduce recovery time, incinerate body fat, increase energy, and boost metabolism .

With this in mind, what are micronutrients?

They are Vitamins and minerals which are in fruits and vegetables aka nutrient dense carbohydrates and fats.

The usual over the counter supplements that people usually take in the morning to try and supply their body with these goodies.

But the issue with that is that people tend to rely on these pills or gummies more than food. They are supposed to supplement your diet and cannot really replace from eating real food.

You can take a supplement to help with the balance, but the body doesn’t process supplements as well.

Because there are 4 different groups of vitamins and minerals: Water-soluble, fat-soluble, trace minerals, and major minerals.

Each of these groups are absorbed differently in the body by going through a different type of process. So just gulping it down with water doesn't cut it.

For example, a fat soluble vitamin such vitamin D is absorbed by lipids or fats.

So why are these micronutrients just as important as macronutrients?

Well these little guys work hard to optimize our metabolism, absorption, building our entire immune system and bodies so we can be strong, healthy and vibrant!

Eating a variety of vegetables and fruits in your normal diet first can drastically change the inside of your body, which will help you look like a stud on the outside.

Now men, yes I know this doesn't sound manly to eat vegetables to get these nutrients. And almost sound like I am talking bro a kid. But you know what isn't manly though?

Being weak, sick, tired, sluggish, inability to get your manhood up for some action, flabby, soft muscles, hair loss, yellow finger and toe nails, and shall I go on?

If you don't eat that many vegetables and fruit, you can start by incorporating your favorite or most tolerable veggies and/or fruit into your diet. It is best to incorporate them in every meal and not just as snack items. They can add nice texture and/or flavor in your favorite dish.

Also, you must have a good mixture of complex and simple carbs, and fats of nutrient dense and calorie dense to hit your carbohydrate numbers.

Example List of Nutrient Dense and Calorie Dense

Nutrient Dense items: cucumbers, celery, all types of greens, carrots, zucchini, squash, cauliflower, broccoli, berries, leek, and onions.

More calorie dense: bananas, apples, grapes, melons, beans, lentils, avocado, coconut, olives (oil too),

These little guys are your best friend in burning unwanted fat, but also improving cholesterol, blood sugar, LDL, HDL, libido, arteriole blood flow, and the list goes on and on!

Now, I'm not saying you can't eat your burgers with bacon anymore, but it wouldn't hurt to add the works on it like lettuce, 🍅, onions, 🥑, etc.

The more fruits and vegetables you add to your meals, within your calorie range of course, can only help you accomplish your goals faster.

You can have the fastest car, but put in other fuels in the engine will only destroy it just like shitty food will do to your body.

To build your best looking body that also performs, you have to build it from within too. Fuel your body with quality food to fulfill your macros and you will also receive your micronutrients to do the dirty work necessary to build your body the way you want and perform like a beast!
